Show We Really Care

2007-02-23

The recent disclosure regarding the wounded soldiers at Walter Reid Hospital is sad.   Values become the issue!  Think about the thousands of dollars that President Bush spend on going here and there to politicize the war.  The cost of one flight would go a long way toward helping the situation.   Another  idea has been floated in the last day to mobilze the govenors to bring their wounded back to the states and enlisted the hospitals iand citizens in  the soliders' home town to take care of them.  What a grand idea!  Let mobilze our personal thinkers and start martialing the nation to take care of our soldiers.  This would be a way of showing we really care.

War of Worlds

2007-02-19

The human instinct is to beat up the other guy when we are threatened.  Maybe there is another way; namely, to love [unconditionally] the other guy when we are threatened.  Our current national leadership has chosen the instinctive  human way.  President Bush believes he is still living in the wild west and the only way to conqueor the land is to kill the enemy.  No one seems to be suggesting to him [and even if they did I don't believe he would listen] that maybe there are interests that both the Iranians [for example] and we [the Western world]  have in common.  Let talk about these, begin to build a relationship of mutual interest  over these issues and then we might be able to deal with the more difficult.  Keep HOPE alive.

Making Contact

2007-02-06

This last week I reaffirmed something of noted importance!   While we may live in relationship of critical difference with some people, we still can related to them.   If we allow ourselves to engaged in conversation about areas of mutual concern with those we differ we will find relationships can be created.   So it may be important for the President of the United States to come to this realization and not see those national leaders with whom he differs as totally outside of the pale of conversation.   He may find that conversation about those things that can be agreed upon might be the stepping stone(s) to resolving those areas of disagreement.
